Starting at age 21, Fred Zitta began a career coaching in the Turner Organization that exceeded 50 years and included numerous Hall of Fame athletes.
Zitta got his start in his native Holyoke, Mass. With the Turn Hall, and had coaching jobs with seven Turner chapters and gyms across the Midwest and Northeast. Along with coaching, Zitta served as President of the Holyoke Turners and was awarded the Turner Key for his more than five decades of service.
