Pat Yeager

Coach Pat Yeager spent his career as a coach and contributor, an instructor and recruiter, a teacher, and a promoter.

Yeager enjoyed success as a coach in the 1960s, taking the reins as head coach of the 1962 Women’s World Championships Team in Prague. He also spent six years at Sam Houston State University following a stint at Georgia Southern University.

Following his coaching career, Yeager founded numerous leagues and camps in Texas in the 1970s and worked to generate interest at both the state and national levels.

The 1975 Gymnastics Association of Texas Honorary Life Member Award-winner served as a member of the AAU National Gymnastics Technical Committee and the Men’s Olympic Gymnastics Committee. For his contributions, Yeager was a 1988 inductee to the Helms/Citizens Savings Gymnastics Hall of Fame.

Yeager’s administrative positions, which influenced dozens of competitors to attempt and succeed in competition, also included a stretch as an AAU Gulf Coast Association Meet Director.
