A former captain at Springfield College, Frank Wolcott returned to his alma mater, where he made his career as a coach for 26 years. Wolcott’s teams won five New England Titles, two Eastern League Championships and placed in the NCAA top-four 11 times. Wolcott’s athletes received 62 All-American honors and eight individual NCAA individual titles.
A year before his 1981 retirement, the C.G.A. presented Wolcott with the Honor Coach Award for 25 years of outstanding service as an NCAA coach. He served as President of the National Association of College Gymnastics Coaches, was a member of the NCAA and Olympic Rules Committees as well as a NACGC Life Member. Wolcott won the 1977 National Coach of The Year Award and was thrice named Eastern Coach of The Year.
