Tom Hanvey

A man of show and awe, Tom Hanvey was able to use his experience as a gymnast, circus, and theatre performer to mold a hall-of-fame coaching career that touched dozens of great athletes. From 1963-1996, Hanvey coached at Lipscomb University, where he posted a record of 80-16. In that time, he coached 12 NAIA All-Americans, had eight undefeated seasons, and had three SIGL individual champions.

In 1979 alone, Hanvey was named NAIA Coach of the Year, and received the NACGC Special Services Award, and an Honorary Membership Award.
