Gerald George—athlete, coach, writer, and administrator— dedicated his life to gymnastics. A Michigan State gymnast and Louisiana State graduate, George remained in his home state of Louisiana, where he took over the LSU men’s program. In his eight years with the Tigers, George took the team to its first NCAA Championships, published articles on biomechanics, and worked to improve the sport’s gym safety.
George has published more than 10 books and 120 articles and served as an administrator on both the national and international levels. His work mainly focuses on the study of movement and safety, all with gymnastics and competitive diving.
