Richard Criley

Class of 1985· Disciplines(s): Trampoline & Tumbling· Inducted as: Contributor

Richard Criley proved that one does not need to medal in order to be a gymnastics champion. His lifetime contributions, which include judging, coaching, and writing for The Modern Gymnast and International Gymnastic magazines, kept him active most of his life. His ability to give back to the sport that he lost as an athlete due to a torn Achilles tendon earned the Penn State alumnus a slot in the USA Gymnastics Hall of Fame in 1985, but contributions continued afterward. Since being inducted, Criley has judged the US and World Championships, as well as the World Cup.
