Ron Barak

Barak competed in the 1964 Olympic Games in Tokyo and just missed qualifying for the horizontal bar finals. In 1961, Barak displayed the hallmark moment of his competitive career: he won 10 out of a possible 13 medals at the Maccabiah Games in Tel Aviv, Israel, which included eight gold.

He competed in several international events as a member of the national team. Competing for the University of South California, Barak helped them win the team gold in 1962 and the all-around title in 1964. He was USC’s Athlete of the Year in 1964.

At USC, he earned his B.S. with honors in physics in 1965 and his Juris Doctor of Law with Honors in 1968. Barak continued his gymnastics career as coach at the University of Southern California (1965-68). He also coached the U.S. Team at the 1967 University Games in Tokyo, where the team took silver.
