A native of Timisoara, Romania, Bagiu’s six-year contribution to USA Gymnastics helped lead the team to gold at the 1995 Pan American Games. Bagiu also competed with the U.S. team in the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta, Ga., and the 1994 World Championships. Bagiu enjoyed individual success, taking gold on the pommel horse at the 1994 U.S. Coca-Cola National Championships, as well as silver on the parallel bars and bronze on the horizontal bars. He lives in Newport Beach, Calif.
