Jay Ashmore

The 1956 NCAA floor exercise champion from Florida State, Ashmore, enjoyed a decorated competitive career. He collected a total of six gold medals and one silver in one National AAU Championships and two Pan American Games, specializing in the still rings. Ashmore went on to serve as the assistant coach at West Point and the University of Illinois before ultimately taking the head coaching position at Connecticut State, followed by Texas.
