

Maren Merwarth and Jessica Renteria competed together as a National Team women’s pair for more than five years, leaving a legacy in those years. From 2013-2017, the pair had a winning streak as national champions in the women’s pair all-around title, spanning junior (2013-14) and senior (2015-17) competition. Merwarth and Renteria won three World Cup all-around medals during their career, including gold at the 2016 Rzeszow World Cup in Poland where they became the first American senior elite women’s pair to medal at a FIG World Cup, and they represented the U.S at the 2016 Acrobatic World Championships, placing fourth overall. The duo also was among the delegation of American athletes to win gold at the 1st Pan American Championships in Puerto Rico in 2015. Renteria has been just as active since retiring, serving as chair of the Athletes’ Council and on the USAG board of directors.
