Yuliya Hall, Idaho Falls, Id., took fifth place over the weekend at the World Cup event in Salzgitter, Germany.  The top eight athletes from the two-year series of World Cup events will advance to the World Cup Final in Birmingham, England in November.  Hall finished the series ranked third overall and will be traveling to England for the final event.  Of Hall, USA Gymnastics President Steve Penny says, “We are very proud of Yuliya’s accomplishment and look forward to seeing what she can do at the World Cup Final.”

In other action in Salzgitter, Erin Blanchard, Lafayette, La. and Amanda Bailey, Levelland, Tex. finished seventh in women’s synchronized trampoline, while men’s pair, Ryan Weston, Chubbuck, Id. and Chris Estrada, Lafayette, La. took eighth place.  Blanchard/Bailey scored 41.40 in the final, with Weston/Estrada scoring 45.00.  In women’s tumbling, Leanne Seitzinger, Stafford, Va. was in seventh place after prelims, but an error was later found in the scoring and she was knocked out of finals, finishing in ninth place with a score of 56.80.

Blanchard took ninth in women’s individual trampoline, missing finals by just .30 of a point with her 65.50 score.  In men’s trampoline, Weston finished in 20th place, with Estrada and Kevin Strickland, Middletown, NJ both experiencing difficulty with the optional and unable to finish their routines.  In men’s tumbling, Kalon Ludvigson, Plano, Tex. and Chris Adair, Lubbock, Tex. finished 15th & 16th, respectively.  See complete results.
