INDIANAPOLIS, May 8, 2018 – 2017 U.S. all-around silver medalist Evita Griskenas of Orland Park, Ill./North Shore Rhythmic Gymnastics Center, earned four top-10 finishes over the weekend at the 2018 Guadalajara World Challenge Cup: sixth, ribbon; seventh, hoop; eighth, clubs; and tenth, all-around. The U.S. senior rhythmic group, which trains at North Shore Rhythmic Gymnastics Center placed sixth in the five hoops final and seventh in the all-around. The members of the U.S. senior rhythmic group are: Dasha Baltovick of Highland Park, Ill.; Isabelle Connor of Manhattan Beach, Calif.; Ugne Dragunas of Darien, Ill.; Connie Du of Deerfield, Ill.; Elizaveta Pletneva of Caldwell, N.J.; Nicole Sladkov of Vernon Hills, Ill.; and Kristina Sobolevskaya of Deerfield, Ill.

Griskenas placed sixth in the ribbon final with her 17.050. She also advanced to the hoop and clubs finals where she finished seventh (17.200) and eighth (15.900), respectively. Lili Mizuno of Northbrook, Ill./North Shore Rhythmic Gymnastics Center, was first reserve for the hoop final. The event champions were: hoop and clubs – Arina Averina of Russia, 19.500, 19.150; ball – Linoy Ashram of Israel, 19.250; ribbon – Aleksandra Soldatova of Russia, 18.650.

In the all-around competition, Griskenas finished tenth with her 64.000 total. Israel’s Linnoy Ashram was the champion at 72.800. Russia’s Aleksandra Soldatova and Arina Averina rounded out the podium with scores of 72.750 and 70.200, respectively. Mizuno placed 15th at 59.000.

The U.S. senior rhythmic group finished sixth in the five hoops final with a 16.750 and placed seventh in the all-around at 32.350. Bulgaria’s 43.800 won the all-around gold medal followed by Italy at 39.750. Russia placed third (38.150).
