CLUJ NAPOCA, Romania (August 24, 2022) – Olympians Evita Griskenas (North Shore Rhythmic Gymnastics Center, Orland Park, Ill.) and Lili Mizuno (North Shore Rhythmic Gymnastics Center, Northbrook, Ill.) are set to lead the group of athletes representing the U.S. at the 2022 Rhythmic Gymnastics FIG World Challenge Cup in Cluj Napoca, Romania. The pair will be joined by the Senior National Group to compete against more than 100 athletes from nearly 30 countries August 26-28 in the BTarena.

Griskenas, the 2022 Pan American Championships all-around gold medalist and Mizuno, 2022 Portimao World Challenge Cup bronze-medalist on ball, each recently made two top-10 finishes at the 2022 The World Games in Birmingham, Ala. The group, which trains at North Shore Rhythmic Gymnastics Center, will also be in action and will feature Gergana Petkova (Barrington, Ill.), Katrine Sakhnov (Glencoe, Ill.), Karolina Saverino (Elk Grove Village, Ill.), Hana Starkman (Deerfield, Ill.) and Emily Wilson (Brooklyn, N.Y.) for this event.

The event begins on Friday, August 26 with individual hoop and ball competition. Griskenas and Mizuno will take the floor at 8:15 a.m. ET in Group C. Group competition will follow at 12:15 p.m. ET with the senior group competing in five hoops among Group A.

Saturday’s competition kicks off with clubs and ribbon at 6:10 a.m. ET where Griskenas and Mizuno will again participate in Group C. The senior group will stay in Group A to perform in three ribbons and two balls later in the day at 1:15 p.m. ET.

Individual and group finals will span the entirety of Sunday, August 28 beginning at 7 a.m. ET. The top-eight individuals and groups per event will qualify to finals competition.
