Go For it USA from Las Vegas, Nevada was selected to perform in the FIG Gala as the representative group from USA Gymnastics.
Drawing on their Las Vegas group, Go For It “went for the gold” by selecting to prepare an ambitious program utilizing athletes from various ages and abilities performing on silks, bungees, and hanging hoops — all tied together through dance and music.
Don Spencer, the group leader said, I have had a goal for many years to make a “gold medal” impact on the international gymnastic community. I had always thought it would come through an amazing female artistic gymnast at the Olympic Games… However, I know now that we just made such an impact at the World Gymnaestrada! And we did it with an “average at best” cross section of gymnastics enthusiasts! What an illustration of the heart of the international gymnastics community to believe in, and allow such a performance to occur! When the president of FIG says we were “magnifico”, and we receive many many compliments from the lead choreographer and many leaders from other countries, I think a positive impression was made!
