READING, Pa. – GK Elite Sportswear, L.P., in cooperation with adidas® USA, recently announced its Shawn Johnson Signature Leotard Collection. The line, which was developed with direction from Johnson, the 2008 Olympic balance beam champion, features four leotards with two matching shorts. Styles are adorned with Johnson’s signature and initials, as well as the peace symbol and heart graphics.
"When I was told about the One World, One Dream motto at the Olympics, I wanted to continue that theme by incorporating my favorite symbol, the peace sign, into the line," Johnson said. "My new collection has been so much fun to make with GK and now I’m excited I can share it with all of you."
Johnson earned four medals at the 2008 Olympic Games: gold on the balance beam, and silver in the team competition, all-around and floor exercise. She is only the second U.S. gymnast to win an Olympic gold medal on the balance beam (Shannon Miller, 1996). At the 2007 World Championships, Johnson won gold medals in the team, all-around and floor exercise. She has five career U.S. titles (all-around and floor exercise in 2007-08, and balance beam in 2007) and won the all-around at the 2008 U.S. Olympic Team Trials – Gymnastics. In 2007, Johnson won the all-around title in every event she entered: Tyson American Cup, Pan American Games, Visa Championships and World Championships.
