TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, May 18, 2016 – Nastasya Generalova of Los Angeles, Calif., and Aliya Protto of Culver City, Calif., both of California Rhythms, earned top five finishes over the weekend in the finals of the Tashkent World Cup in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.

USA finished fourth and fifth in the ribbon final with Protto and Generalova earning scores of 17.500 and 17.450. Russia’s Yana Kudryavtseva placed first with a 19.300, followed by teammate Aleksandra Soldatova (19.100). Uzbekistan’s Anastasiya Serdyukova earned the bronze at 18.200.

Generalova and Protto placed sixth and eighth in the hoop final, respectively, at 17.500 and 17.450. Kudryavtseva won the gold with a 19.250, followed by Serdyukova (18.800). Israel’s Neta Rivkin finished third (18.500).

Generalova placed eighth in the ball final with a 17.550, followed by Protto in ninth (17.000). Kudryavtseva earned the gold (19.250), followed by Rivkin (18.500), and Serdyukova (18.000).

Generalova totaled a 16.550 for seventh place in the clubs final. Kudryavtseva placed first (19.350), followed by teammate Soldatova at 18.850. Elizaveta Nazarenkova of Uzbekistan finished third (17.700)

In the all-around, USA’s Generalova placed seventh with a score of 69.500 and teammate Protto finished 12th at 67.100. World champion Kudryavtseva won gold with a 76.200.

Serena Lu of Staten Island, N.Y./ Isadora, represented Team USA over the weekend at the Bucharest Grand Prix in Bucharest, Romania. Lu’s qualifications scores were: 16.550 (hoop), 16.300 (ball), 16.650 (clubs), and 15.400 (ribbon). Lu was the reserve athlete for the hoop and clubs finals.
