SOFIA, Bulgaria, May 29, 2016 – Nastasya Generalova of Los Angeles, Calif/ California Rhythms, finished seventh in the clubs final at this weekend’s Sofia (Bulgaria) World Cup. Held at the Arena Armeec, Generalova finished 12th in the all-around, with Serena Lu of Staten Island, N.Y./ Isadora, in 14th.

In the clubs final, Generalova posted a 16.700 for seventh. Korea’s Son Yeon Jae took top honors with an 18.550. The Ukraine’s Ganna Rizatdinova was second (18.450), followed by Russia’s Arina Averina (18.300).

In the all-around, Generalova’s 68.850 put her in 12th, and Lu’s total of 68.600 put her 14th. Generalova’s event scores were: 17.250, hoop; 17.450, ball; 17.500, clubs; and 16.650, ribbon. Lu’s event scores were: 17.250, hoop; 17.150, ball; 17.250, clubs; and 16.950, ribbon. Russia’s Yana Kudryavtseva won the title (75.750). Rizatdinova was next at 74.250, followed by Son with 74.200.

Aliya Protto of Los Angeles/California Rhythms, and Heather Chan of South Pasadena, Calif./Isadora, finished second and third in the all-around over the weekend at the Sofia (Bulgaria) International Tournament, held in conjunction with the World Cup. Ekatherina Kapitonova of Staten Island, N.Y./Isadora, placed fourth.

Protto earned the all-around silver medal with scores of 17.400, hoop; 16.850, ball; 16.200, clubs; and 16.900, ribbon, for a 67.350 total. Chan garnered bronze with scores of 16.600, hoop; 16.900, ball; 16.500, clubs; and 17.000, ribbon; for a 66.250 all-around total. Kapitonova’s scores were: 15.750, hoop; 16.600, ball; 16.450, clubs; 16.950, ribbon; for a 65.750 total. Russia’s Karina Kuznetsova placed first with a 68.850.
