INDIANAPOLIS, Ind., July 28, 2011 – The preliminary round for synchronized trampoline concluded today at the 2011 Canada Cup in Airdrie, Alberta, Canada, for junior and senior women and junior men, and four USA pairs advanced to the finals.

In their first time bouncing as a pair, senior women Dakota Earnest of Plains, Texas/Acrospirits, and Alicia Powder of Ladera Ranch, Calif./World Elite, placed third with a score of 72.100. Nani Vercruyssen of Honolulu, Hawaii/Hawaii Academy, and Savannah Vinsant of Lafayette, La./Trampoline and Tumbling Express, finished fourth.

Junior pair Sean Sargent of Mason, Ohio/Queen City Gymnastics, and Samuel Chiacchia of Colorado Springs, Colo./Artsports–Trampoline World, were first with a 65.000. In the junior women’s competition, Maggie Gallagher of Coto de Caza, Calif./World Elite, and Meghan O’Connell of Middletown, N.J./Head Over Heels/UltraTwisters, finished fourth at 68.500.

The scores from today’s preliminary round carry over and count toward determining the overall champion.
