HELSINKI, Finland, Oct. 21, 2008 – Five USA Gymnastics members were elected to positions with the International Gymnastics Federation (FIG) at the recent 77th FIG Congress in Helsinki, Finland. Bob Colarossi of Lodi, Calif., a former USA Gymnastics president, and Ron Froehlich of Birmingham, Ala., chairman of USA Gymnastics’ board of directors, were re-elected as a member of the Executive Committee and as an auditor, respectively. Tonya Case of Yucaipa, Calif., was elected president of the technical committee for acrobatic gymnastics. Steve Butcher of Knoxville, Tenn., and Caroline Hunt of Indianapolis, Ind., USA Gymnastics program director for rhythmic gymnastics, were elected to the technical committees for men’s and rhythmic gymnastics, respectively.
