KNOXVILLE, Tenn., Nov. 29, 2009 – The Men’s Technical Committee for the International Gymnastics Federation (FIG) held its third ordinary meeting in Knoxville, Tenn., Nov. 26-29, 2009. FIG MTC President Adrian Stoica of Romania was among the attendees at the meeting, which was hosted by USA Gymnastics and held in the hometown of MTC member Steve Butcher (USA).

Topics discussed at the meeting include: review and analysis of new skills presented at the 2009 World Championships and during the World Cup season; discussion of technical issues for each apparatus; reviewed the judges’ analysis of the E juries from the 2009 World Championships; discussion of the newly tested reference judge system, with special attention to their scores, analysis, and report; initial discussions using specific criteria regarding judges nominations for the 2010 Youth Olympic Games; and scheduling for 2010 meetings and assigning FIG technical delegates for next year’s official events.

The members of the Men’s Technical Committee who attended the meetings in Knoxville are: Liping Huang (China), vice president, MTC; Edouard Iarov (Canada); Istvan Karacsony (Hungary); Sawao Kato (Japan), vice president, MTC; Julio Marcos (Spain); Stoica; and Butcher.
