This will serve as the Spring Junior & Senior National Team Camp. Coaches will be working directly with their own athletes as well as having opportunities to collaborate with other National Team Coaches, Camp Clinicians, International Judges, & USA Gymnastics Staff. The purpose of this camp will be to provide direct feedback to coaches and athletes on routines, skills, and training strategies going into their Spring National Team assignment.
Space is limited to National Team Athletes and National Team alternates.
Training will begin first thing in the morning on February 28, 2026. All Athletes/Coaches should plan to travel to Maryland on the 27th (arriving prior to 9:00pm) to ensure that they are ready to train on the morning of the 28th. We will have 2 full days of camp February 28 & March 1. We will have an open training the morning of March 2nd for all athletes leaving for MIAC/World cup or any other athletes that would like to catch a training before traveling home that day. Everyone should plan to depart on March 2nd. Athletes attending MIAC/World Cup will leave directly from this camp so plan to book your travel to Portugal from surrounding airports if you are responsible for booking your own travel.
All athletes and personal coaches will attend a mandatory welcome meeting on February 27th at 9:00 PM at the host hotel. At this time all coaches should provide us with all athlete room numbers at the host hotel so that we can make sure all athletes are being room checked each night. We will also go over camp rules & expectations at this time.
All camp participants will have two training sessions each day and an open training on departure day.
Pairs/groups will be divided into training groups by age group and discipline. Training groups will rotate through running routines with Judges feedback, working artistry, & skills work. Training time will focus on skill/technique work, artistry, and minimizing deductions.
Personal Coaches are expected to attend and actively participate in every session with their athletes, as well as additional sessions designated for coaches, and coaches meetings. Personal coaches and/or USA Gymnastics chaperones are responsible for the athletes outside of training times. Chaperones will provide room checks each night to ensure athletes are in rooms and accounted for each evening.
