INDIANAPOLIS, Feb. 5, 2014 – 2013 Tokyo World Cup silver medalist Peyton Ernst of Coppell, Texas/Texas Dreams, has been selected to compete at the 2014 Tokyo (Japan) World Cup. The event, which is the final leg of the 2013-14 International Gymnastics Federation World Cup all-around series, is scheduled for April 5-6, 2014, at the Tokyo Metropolitan Gymnasium.

At last year’s competition, Ernst finished second behind Japan’s Asuka Teramoto, who will once again be in the women’s field. In addition to Ernst and Teramoto, the following athletes are expected to comprise the remainder of the women’s roster: 2006 World all-around champion Vanessa Ferrari of Italy, Julia Steingruber of Switzerland, Victoria Moors of Canada, Carlotta Ferlito of Italy, and Roxana Popa of Spain. A participant from Russia will be announced later. Ernst must demonstrate competition readiness prior to departing for Tokyo.

The all-around competition is split over two days: April 5 – women’s vault and uneven bars; and April 6 – women’s balance beam and floor exercise.
