MINNEAPOLIS (June 27, 2026) – Recognizable names returned to competition and new stars emerged as athletes qualified to the 2026 Xfinity U.S. Gymnastics Championships and Hopes Championships at USA Gymnastics’ American Classic and Hopes Classic this weekend.
With many anticipating the return of seasoned veterans, it was 17-year-old Tatum Drusch (White Bear Lake, Minn./Flips Gymnastics) who topped the all-around field. The 2025 Winter Cup beam champion dominated on the apparatus, opening with a 13.800 to put .550 between herself and the field. She never lost her hold on the top spot and was second on uneven bars (13.100), third on floor exercise (13.000) and had the fourth-highest single vault score (13.800) to finish with 53.700.
Returning to the elite ranks for the first time since earning two medals at the 2024 Paris Olympics, Jade Carey (Phoenix, Ariz./Oregon State University) finished second in the all-around with a 53.050. Unsurprisingly, the 2020 Olympic floor gold medalist and 2022 vault World champion excelled on those events, topping the field on floor (13.000) and vault (14.250). She added 12.700 on bars and 13.000 on beam. Zoey Molomo(McKinney, Texas/Metroplex Gymnastics) closed out the top three with an all-around total of 52.700. Addy Fulcher (Gastonia, N.C./Georgia Elite Gymnastics) posted the best score on bars with 13.150. Carey also performed a second vault with a score of 13.75 to finish with an official vault score of 14.000.
In her first elite competition since 2013 and her first competition overall since 2019, Katelyn Ohashi (Newcastle, Wash./Pacific Reign Gymnastics) opened on beam, where she impressed with a 13.150, tying for the third-highest score of the competition on the apparatus.
In junior action, Madelyn Eagle (Mansfield, Texas/WOGA Gymnastics) was strong across all four apparatus to convincingly win the all-around with a 51.900. Eagle had the top score of the weekend on bars (13.300), was second on vault (13.400), tied for second on floor (12.700) and was fifth on beam (12.500). Her club teammate, Sofie Davtyan (Frisco, Texas/WOGA Gymnastics) was second all-around with a 50.250, had the No.2 score on beam (13.150) and tied with Eagle for second on floor. Espy Chang (Kirkland, Wash./Pacific Reign Gymnastics) was third with a 49.700, with a best apparatus ranking of third on beam (13.000). Other top scorers were Bailynn Kasprzak (Clarence, N.Y./ World Champions Centre) on vault (13.500), Annabel Melnyk (Sierra Madre, Calif./SCEGA Gymnastics) on beam (13.200) and Brooklyn Klauser (Frisco, Texas/WOGA Gymnastics) on floor (12.900).
Thirty-six athletes advanced to the Hopes Championships next month in Hartford by virtue of their performances Friday in the Hopes Classic, held in conjunction with American Classic.
Brooklyn Hardman-Smith (Bonney Lake, Wash./Ascend Gymnastics) won the 13-14 all-around with a 49.750 and tied for the top score on uneven bars (12.100). Nora Greenfield (Plano, Texas/WOGA Gymnastics) won silver with a 48.800, and Madyson Crumpler (Sulphur, Texas/World Champions Centre) took bronze with a 48.650, tying with Hardman-Smith on bars.
Other top scorers were Kiearra Warren (Fontana, Calif./SCEGA Gymnastics) on vault (13.500), Marian Guerrero (Lee’s Summit, Mo./Cincinnati Gymnastics) on balance beam (13.000), and Toryn Marrs (Frisco, Texas/WOGA Gymnastics) on floor exercise (12.700).
In 11-12 competition, Charlie Marshall (Ripon, Calif./Royal Gymnastics and Sports Academy) took the all-around with a 51.050, posting the top score on bars (13.000) and tying for the second-highest score on vault (13.300). Kinsley Jo Kruiter (Andover, Minn./Twin City Twisters) was second with a 50.350, including the leading score on beam (13.000), with Piper Graves (Rockvale, Tenn./E.T.C. Gymnastics) third with a 49.850. Jemma Oie (Tracy, Calif./Royal Gymnastics and Sports Academy) had the highest score on vault with a 13.400, while Mary Sizemore (Scottsdale, Ariz./Arizona Sunrays) had a 12.500 to lead on floor.
The American and Hopes Classic events served as qualifiers to the 2026 Xfinity U.S. Gymnastics Championships 6-9 in Phoenix, Arizona and the 2026 Hopes Championships July 17 at PeoplesBank Arena in Hartford, Connecticut. Qualified athletes from each division are listed below.
