2012 Olympic all-around champion Gabrielle Douglas of Virginia Beach, Va./Chow’s Gymnastics and Dance, won a Teen Choice Award last night for best female athlete. Held in Los Angeles’ Gibson Amphitheatre and hosted by Lucy Hale and Darren Criss, Douglas beat out the likes of fellow Olympic champions Serena Williams, tennis, Missy Franklin, swimming, and Alex Morgan, soccer, en route to taking home the Teen Choice Award’s coveted surf board.
