WASHINGTON, D.C., Jan. 18, 2017 – Three-time Olympic gold medalist Gabby Douglas was named to the President’s Council on Fitness, Sports and Nutrition today by President Barack Obama. The council promotes programs and initiatives that motivate people of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities to lead active, healthy lives. Fellow Olympians Carli Lloyd, soccer; Caitlin Cahow, hockey; and Ibtihaj Muhammad, fencing; were also named to the council.

Three-time Olympian and 1996 Olympic gold medalist Dominique Dawes is already a member of the council.
