HUNTSVILLE, Texas, June 19, 2017 – Two camps just concluded at the USA Gymnastics National Team Training Center in Huntsville, Texas. The first camp was the Developmental Team camp followed by the Developmental Invite camp.

One hundred gymnasts attended the camps, led by Valeri Liukin, National Team Coordinator. Both camps opened with physical abilities followed by two-a-day training sessions. Athletes are invited to attend these camps chosen from the Talent Opportunity Program (TOPs), Level 9 Eastern and Western Championships and the Level 10 Junior Olympic National Championships.

During developmental team camp, verification took place as many of these athletes are preparing for July’s Hopes and American Classics.

At the end of each camp, Liukin and the national coaching staff chose a most improved gymnast for each camp: Jacqueline Moran of San Mateo Gymnastics, Developmental, and Madison Katz of Ace Gymnastics, Invite.

The developmental team camp athletes were given a national team leotard courtesy of GK Elite, and athletes of both camps were given a USA Gymnastics t-shirt.

The developmental athletes will to the training center in July, as they prepare for their competitive season, starting with the Hopes and American Classic meets.
