YOKOHAMA, Japan, Sept. 23, 2013 – Fabian DeLuna of Frisco, Texas/WOGA Frisco, won the vault silver medal and tied for a share of the bronze medal on the still rings today the 2013 International Junior Gymnastics Competition at the Yokohama (Japan) Cultural Gymnasium.

DeLuna posted a 14.850 on vault to earn the silver medal. Japan’s Wataru Tanigawa edged DeLuna out with a 14.950, while Brazil’s Angelo Assumpcao won the bronze with a 14.775. On the rings, DeLuna posted a 14.000, tying Great Britain’s Brinn Bevan for the bronze medal behind Russia’s Ilya Kibartas and Artur Dalaloyan.

Marty Strech of Fountain Valley, Calif./Azarian’s Gymnastics, also competed for Team USA. He finished fifth on floor, 14.075, and pommel horse, 13.250. On parallel bars, he posted a 13.625 for eighth place, and he scored 12.350 on the horizontal bar, which was good for seventh.
