YOKOHAMA, Japan, Sept. 22, 2013 – Fabian DeLuna of Frisco, Texas/WOGA Frisco, and Marty Strech of Fountain Valley, Calif./Azarian’s Gymnastics, both qualified for event finals at the 2013 International Junior Gymnastics Competition at the Yokohama (Japan) Cultural Gymnasium on Sept. 23.

Strech qualified for the finals for the floor exercise, pommel horse, parallel bars and horizontal bar, with DeLuna advancing for still rings and vault.

Strech’s event scores in the all-around, where he placed eighth with his 82.450, were: floor exercise, 13.950; pommel horse, 13.400; still rings, 13.600; vault, 13.900; parallel bars, 13.650; and horizontal bar, 13.950. DeLuna finished in 12th place in the all-around at 79.400 and his event scores were: floor, 13.700; pommel horse, 11.600; still rings, 14.250; vault, 14.500; parallel bars, 12.800; and high bar, 12.550. Japan’s Kazuma Kaya won the all-around, posting an 86.450 total.

This event is the second international assignment for both DeLuna and Strech. Eduard Azarian of Azarian’s Gymnastics is the coach for the event.
