GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Preseason No. 2 Gators gymnastics used its highest season opening total to begin 2023 with a quad meet win Friday in front of a sellout Exactech Arena at the Stephen C. O’Connell Center crowd.

SALT LAKE CITY – Third-ranked Utah Gymnastics posted its highest season-opening score since 2005 en route to a win over sixth-ranked LSU, downing the Tigers 197.275-196.775 on Friday night at the Huntsman Center.

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The No. 7 Alabama gymnastics team opened the 2023 season with a 196.975- 196.550 win over No. 12 Michigan State Friday night in Coleman Coliseum.

#9 Missouri 196.425, Illinois 196.275 – Jan. 8, 2023
CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – The No. 23 Illinois women’s gymnastics team opened its 2023 campaign with the best season-opener in the Nadalie Walsh era, however, lost by .15 of a point with a 196.275 finish against No. 9 Missouri on Sunday afternoon in Huff Hall.

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The No. 19 Ohio State women’s gymnastics team opened its 2023 season with a win in front of a sold-out crowd of 3,596 at the Covelli Center on Sunday afternoon.

#13 Denver 196.925, Penn State 195.875, Texas Woman’s 191.725 – Jan. 8, 2023
DENVER – The No. 13-ranked University of Denver women’s gymnastics team began its 2023 season with a 196.925 performance on Sunday, ranking among the best season openers in program history.

#15 Arkansas 196.225, Nebraska 195.000 – Jan. 7, 2023
LINCOLN, Neb. – Emma Spence led the Huskers claiming the floor and all-around title in the season opening meet while newcomer Sophia McClelland earned the balance beam title. Despite taking three event titles, the Huskers fell to #15 Arkansas, 196.225-195.000.

MINNEAPOLIS – The University of Minnesota women’s gymnastics opened their 2023 season with success, defeating Gustavus, Hamline and Winona State at Maturi Pavilion on Friday night.

ANN ARBOR, Mich. — The No. 2-ranked University of Michigan men’s gymnastics team opened the 2023 regular season with winning score of 400.600 team score, topping No. 14 Greenville and No. 15 Simpson on Saturday (Jan. 7) inside Cliff Keen Arena.

#5 Penn State 402.900, #11 Army 378.300 – Jan. 7, 2023
UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa.- Penn State defeats Army 402.900-378.300 to kick off their 2023 campaign. The Nittany Lions earn their highest team score in an opening home meet since 2016.
