NORMAN, Okla. — The fourth-ranked Oklahoma women’s gymnastics squad opened its 2011 season with a 195.475-195.075 victory over No. 11 Arkansas in OU’s fourth annual "Beauty and the Beast" night Friday at the Lloyd Noble Center.

DENVER – No. 16 University of Denver opened up the 2011 season with a score of 193.225, placing third behind No. 7 University of Georgia and Brigham Young University, but topping in-state rival Air Force in a four-team showdown Saturday night at Magness Arena.

CORVALLIS, Ore. – The No. 8 Oregon State gymnastics team tumbled past No. 12 LSU in Friday night’s season opener at Gill Coliseum, 195.400-193.350.

EAST LANSING, Mich. – Competing with a heavy heart after losing a teammate last week during practice to a season-ending injury, the Michigan State gymnastics squad (0-3, 0-2 Big Ten) opened its 2011 campaign when it hosted Big Ten rivals Iowa and No. 9 Michigan, as well as Western Michigan, on Friday night.

LEXINGTON, Ky. – The University of Kentucky gymnastics team posted four career-high scores on floor to increase its lead and seal the victory over No. 17 Illinois and Northern Illinois at Excite Night on Saturday at Memorial Coliseum.

#20 Southern Utah 193.475, Utah State 192.800 – Jan. 7, 2011
LOGAN, Utah – Utah State gymnastics opened the 2011 season with a 192.800 score while 20th-ranked Southern Utah rallied to win the meet with a 193.475 score Friday night at the Dee Glen Smith Spectrum in the season-opener for both teams.
