MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – In front of the sixth-largest crowd in program history, the West Virginia University gymnastics team opened its 2018 season tonight with a 195.9-194.425 loss to No. 2-ranked Florida inside the WVU Coliseum.

#3 LSU 197.150, #19 Arkansas 195.350 – Jan. 5, 2018
BATON ROUGE – In front of the largest crowd for a season opener in school history, the third-ranked LSU gymnastics team posted a score of 197.150 to defeat Arkansas, Friday night inside the Maravich Center.

#7 Michigan 196.200, #4 Alabama 195.675 – Jan. 5, 2018
ANN ARBOR, Mich. — The No. 7 University of Michigan women’s gymnastics team started the season at home and impressed a crowd of more than 3,000 with a 196.200-195.675 victory over No. 4 Alabama.

#5 Utah 197.000, BYU 194.275 – Jan. 5, 2018
SALT LAKE CITY — In the preseason, the Utah coaches and gymnasts repeatedly stated their intention to establish themselves as national contenders right out of the gates. Consider the 14,805 fans in the Huntsman Center believers after the Utes exploded for a 197 score in a 197.000-194.275 season-opening win over BYU.

#6 UCLA 196.250, Ohio State 193.200 – Jan. 6, 2018
LOS ANGELES – UCLA shined on bars and floor in its 196.250-193.200 season-opening win over Ohio State on Saturday. Kyla Ross won the all-around, scoring three 9.9s on her way to a 39.5 total.

#8 Denver 195.775, Arizona 195.425 – Jan. 6, 2018
TUCSON, Ariz. – Arizona gymnastics opened their 2018 season at home on Jan. 6 against No. 8 Denver. The Cats posted a score of 195.425, but Denver just barely defeated them with a final score of 195.775.

#10 Kentucky 196.075, Ball State 194.475, George Washington 193.775, SEMO 189.675 – Jan. 5, 2018
LEXINGTON, Ky. – In front of sold out Rupp Arena, No. 10 Kentucky gymnastics earned its highest opening-meet score in program history and earned an Excite Night win.
