AMES, Iowa – The Iowa State gymnastics team showed marked improvement from its first meet of the season, but could not overcome No. 1 Nebraska Friday night inside Hilton Coliseum. The top-ranked Cornhuskers defeated the Cyclones 195.775-193.925 in front of 1,691 fans.

FAYETTEVILLE – In recognition of the 10-year anniversary of Arkansas’ gymnastics program, the third-ranked Razorbacks put on a show in front of many former Razorbacks and a huge crowd Friday in Barnhill Arena against No. 25 LSU.

TUCSON, Ariz. – The Arizona women’s gymnastics team hosted a crowd of 1,607 for the home season opener against Oregon State. The Cats fell to the Beavers 194.375 to 194.825.

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – The ninth-ranked Penn State women’s gymnastics team took second place in their home opener with a score of 196.100. The Nittany Lions narrowly missed first place, trailing fifth-ranked Alabama by only .075.

LOS ANGELES — The seventh-ranked UCLA Gymnastics team put together its most complete performance of the year, scoring a season-best 197.575 to defeat San Jose State by over four points on Sunday afternoon.

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Behind a season-high team score on floor exercise, the University of Kentucky gymnastics team showed improvement from its first SEC meet of the year to its second meet of the year in a 196.275-194.075 loss to No. 8 Florida at Memorial Coliseum on Friday night.

MINNEAPOLIS — The University of Minnesota women’s gymnastics team earned a 193.00 in front of a Sports Pavilion crowd of 1,559 fans, but the Golden Gophers were edged out by five-time defending Big Ten Conference Champion and No. 11-ranked Michigan, who scored a 193.150.

STANFORD, Calif. – Stanford senior Nicole Pechanec earned her first collegiate all-around victory to lead the Cardinal to a 195.925-195.725 women’s gymnastics victory over Washington at Burnham Pavilion on Sunday.

Columbia, Mo–The No. 22-ranked Missouri Gymnastics team topped No. 16 Denver on Friday (Jan. 20). The Tigers pulled out a 194.725-194.625 victory over the Pioneers to improve to 3-0 on the season.

BOISE, Idaho – Boise State’s 10th annual Beauty and the Beast competition went off without a hitch Friday (Jan. 20) night with both the Bronco gymnastics team and wrestling team picking up wins at Taco Bell Arena.

ANNAPOLIS, Md. – The Navy gymnastics team began its 2012 season on Saturday as it hosted the annual Navy Open at Macdonough Hall. The Temple Owls topped the five-team field with a total score of 330.8.
