Abbie Baker – Frostburg State
Baker, a junior top and tumbler from Berlin, Md., led Frostburg State to a narrow win over Fairmont State in Mountain East Conference action this week. Her performance was highlighted by a perfect score (9.90/9.90) in the open toss and a 9.90 out of 10.0 in her individual tumbling pass (the open pass). In all, she helped Frostburg State to eight scores of 9.50 or higher. Baker’s top scores this week also included a 9.95 in the open pyramid and a 9.85 in both the compulsory pyramid and synchronized pyramid.
Specialist of the Week
Ty Upton – Gannon
Upton, a sophomore from South Amboy, N.J., was a standout in the toss event for Gannon this week. Her performance helped Gannon to a 9.80 in the 450 salto toss and a 9.75 in the synchronized toss. Upton specialized in the toss event with her kick back double during both of these heats on meet day.
Freshman of the Week
Isabella Mongelluzzo – Frostburg State
Mongelluzzo, a base from Myersville, Md., competed in 10 heats and team event for Frostburg State this week. She helped the Bobcats to six scores of 9.60 or higher, including a perfect score in the open toss heat (9.90/9.90). She also helped Frostburg State to a 9.95 in the open pyramid and a 9.85 in both the compulsory pyramid and synchronized pyramid heats.

Gracie Grady – Belmont Abbey
A freshman base from Kyle, Texas, Grady was an integral part in the Crusaders earning a pair of wins over King (266.870-264.665) and Emmanuel (266.870-244.770) on Saturday. Grady competed in seven heats and team event. She had four scores of 9.5 or higher including a 9.9 in compulsory pyramid and a 9.7 in compulsory toss. She also recorded a 9.6 out of 9.9 in the 7 element acro heat and a 9.75 out of 9.9 in the inversion pyramid heat. In the open toss heat she scored a 9.2 out of 9.3 and helped the team to a 96.62 in team event, which is the highest score in program history for the Crusaders.
