Gymnast and Freshman of the Week
Caden Spencer – Ohio State

  • Collected three event titles and posted three personal-best scores on March 4 as Ohio State registered a season-high score of 409.950 in its victory at No. 11 Army
  • Earned wins on the vault (personal-best 14.750), parallel bars (14.100) and high bar (personal-best tying 13.900)
  • Also placed second on the floor with a personal-best score of 14.250
  • Earns his first career Big Ten Gymnast of the Week award
  • Last Ohio State Gymnast of the Week: Kristian Grahovski (Jan. 23, 2023)
  • Captures his first Big Ten Freshman of the Week award

Dominic Ramalho – Springfield
Senior Dominic Ramalho delivered the best all-around score of his career (77.4) as he won the floor exercise (13.5) and parallel bars (13.5) and finished second on the vault.

Specialist of the Week
Maddox Pabellon – Army
Freshman Maddox Pabellon continued his standout season, posting a massive career and season-high 14.45 on pommel horse to capture the event title against #6 Ohio State. Maddox is now ranked #7 in the country on pommel horse, giving him the highest rank on an individual event by an ECAC gymnast. This score marked the highest score on pommel horse in the ECAC since 2020. Pabellon also performed a successful vault for the Black Knights, scoring a 13.85 on the event.

Co-Rookies of the Week
Matthew Petros – Navy
Petros competed for the Mids on the final three rotations and came away with three top-three results, including a win on the high bar by 0.4 points (13.6 score) and third place outcomes on the vault (14.2) and p-bars (13.45). Competing on the high bar in collegiate action for just the second time in his career, Petros nailed his 4.4-point routine and was rewarded with a 9.2-point execution score.

Sam Kaplan – Springfield
Kaplan produced the best all-around score of his career with a 77.150 as he won the parallel bars (13.5) and rings (12.95) versus Greenville and Simpson.

Gymnast of the Week
Brody Malone – Stanford
Stanford fifth-year senior Brody Malone (Summerville, GA) made his season debut by winning the still rings event title with a score of 14.600 in a tri-meet vs. No. 6 Illinois and No. 10 California (Mar. 4). He also finished third on parallel bars (14.100) and fifth on vault (14.650). This is the ninth career MPSF weekly award for Malone.

Specialist of the Week
Jasper Smith-Gordon – California
California sophomore Jasper Smith-Gordon (Surrey, England) scored a school record 14.850 on vault to win the event in a road tri-meet at No. 2 Stanford, with No. 6 Illinois (Mar. 4). This is the first career MPSF weekly award for Smith-Gordon.

Freshman of the Week
Asher Hong – Stanford
Stanford freshman Asher Hong (Tomball, TX finished third on floor (14.150) and still rings (14.400) in a tri-meet against No. 6 Illinois and No. 10 California. He also scored 14.150 on vault. This is the fifth MPSF weekly award for Hong.
