Gymnast of the Week awards are given by conference offices and the College Gymnastics Association.
Gymnast of the Week
Matteo Bardana – California
Competing in his first collegiate all-around, the native of Oakville, Ontario, put up a score of 78.050 that ranked tops of all gymnasts wearing a collegiate uniform that week. His standout scores included a personal-best 13.900 on parallel bars and a 13.700 on floor as well as a stuck dismount on high bar (13.350).

Gymnast of the Week
Preston Ngai – Illinois
* Claimed a pair of event titles in Illinois’ tri-meet victories over Greenville and Navy
* Secured the still rings title with a score of 13.750
* Posted a season-high score of 14.350 to win the vault
* Garners his second career Gymnast of the Week award
Event Specialist of the Week
Parker Thackston – Ohio State
* Won the pommel horse with a score of 15.300, his second consecutive score over 15.000
* Led the Buckeyes to a season-best pommel horse score of 56.550
* Scores his sixth career Event Specialist of the Week award
Freshman of the Week
Lukas Ross – Ohio State
* Earned a career-high 13.450 on the floor to finish second and earn his first career podium finish
* Helped the Buckeyes to their highest floor score of the season (54.100) and highest team score of the year (320.650)
* Scores his first Freshman of the Week honor
Gymnast of the Week
Jaxon Clapper – Greenville
Jaxon won the title in PB with a score of 13.7 in Greenville’s meet against Navy giving him his fourth win in the event this season. He also scored highly in his two other events with a 13.9 on the Floor, and a 13.75 on the Vault.
Routine of the Week
Devon Felsenstein – Springfield
Devon Felsenstein put on an absolute clinic on execution this weekend at Penn State. Devon scored a career high on pommel horse with a 14.35 and had .45 off his routine to take the event title.
Rookie of the Week
Sean Armstrong – Navy
Competing in his second-ever collegiate meet, Armstrong was part of a three-man sweep of the top spots on the high bar in Saturday’s tri-meet with Illinois and Greenville. Armstrong came in runner-up to Matthew Petros with a score of 13.65 on the high bar. He executed his 4.0-start valued routine with 9.65 accuracy. That 13.65 is the second-highest HB score in the ECAC this season.
Gymnast of the Week
Brigham Frentheway – Oklahoma
Oklahoma senior Brigham Frentheway (Cheyenne, WY) set season-highs in all four of his events to lead the Sooners to a 2026 national-best score of 331.300 and a win over No. 3 Nebraska (Feb. 28). He placed second on the floor exercise with a 13.850 (his first floor routine this season) and posted a 13.500 on still rings. Frentheway then added a 14.100 on vault in the anchor position and stuck his dismount on high bar for a 13.750. This is the third career MPSF weekly award for Frentheway.
Specialist of the Week
Nathan Roman – Oklahoma
Oklahoma freshman Nathan Roman (Poway, CA) registered the nation’s highest season score on parallel bars with a career-high 14.650 to win the event title and help the Sooners to a 2026 national-best 331.300 and a win over No. 3 Nebraska (Feb. 28). The competition marked Roman’s first appearance for the Sooners since Jan. 24. This is the first career MPSF weekly award for Roman.
Freshman of the Week
Sasha Bogonosiuk – Oklahoma
Oklahoma freshman Sasha Bogonosiuk (Buffalo Grove, IL) tied his career-high on vault with a stuck 14.450 to win the event title and help the Sooners to a 2026 national-best score of 331.300 and a win over No. 3 Nebraska (Feb. 28). His execution score of 9.550 on vault was the highest of any routine in the meet. He also scored a 13.750 on the floor exercise to place third and posted a career-high 13.800 on parallel bars. This is the second career MPSF weekly award for Bogonosiuk.
Co-Gymnasts of the Week
Ethan Zenick – Rocky Mountain Mavericks
Ethan made an impressive comeback from injury to compete with this brothers, the Mavericks as they made the Air Force Falcons sweat in their dual meet.
Jack Gagamov – Minnesota
Jack consistently contributes to the Gophers, especially this past weekend as he took top honors at the MIGS Program Invitational on Pommel Horse and High Bar.
