Gymnast of the Week
Josh Karnes – Penn State

  • Secured the all-around title Feb. 11 in Penn State’s home win over No. 2 Michigan, posting his second-highest score of the season (83.750)
  • Also won the event title on the rings (14.100)
  • Added top-three finishes on the floor (2nd – 14.050), parallel bars (2nd – career-high 14.700) and vault (3rd – career-high 14.350)
  • Earns his first career Big Ten Gymnast of the Week award

Freshman of the Week
Fred Richard – Michigan

  • Picked up an individual event title and finished second in another event during the Wolverines’ Feb. 11 meet at fifth-ranked Penn State
  • Earned a win on the high bar (14.400)
  • Took runner-up honors on the vault (14.450)
  • Captures his second Big Ten Freshman of the Week award

Gymnast of the Week
Jacob Foster – Greenville
Jacob Foster hit four for four for Greenville in their win over Simpson and took two event titles on the high bar and rings. In addition, he was top three on the pommel horse and parallel bars as well.

Specialist of the Week
Major Bain – Greenville
Major came away with his first event title on the pommel horse with a 12.7 and a placed second on vault with ascore of 14.25, playing a major part of Greenville’s first dual meet victory in program history.

Rookie of the Week
Mark Fu – Springfield
Mark Fu placed fourth in his collegiate debut in the all-around. He earned a career high on vault with a 12.6. He contributed key scores on five events for the Tribe this weekend while helping the Tribe earn their highest team score of the season.

Gymnast of the Week
Asher Hong – Stanford
Stanford freshman Asher Hong (Tomball, TX) won the all-around in a tri-meet at No. 2 Oklahoma with No. 11 William & Mary, posting an NCAA season-high 85.600. He won the vault (15.150) and parallel bars (14.650) titles while finishing second on floor (14.700) and third on high bar (13.700). Hong set new career-highs on vault and floor en route to winning his first collegiate all-around crown. This is the third MPSF weekly award for Hong this year.

Specialist of the Week
Ignacio Yockers – Oklahoma
Oklahoma freshman Ignacio Yockers (Tulsa, OK) turned in an incredible 15.100 on pommel horse to help lead the Sooners to wins over No. 1 Stanford and No. 11 William & Mary (Feb. 11). It was not only the highest pommel score in the country this season, but the highest nationally since 2020. Yockers anchored a 71.250 team score, which is best in the country this season. This is the third career MPSF weekly award for Yockers, each in the last three weeks.

Freshman of the Week
Taj Gopaul – Air Force
Air Force freshman Taj Gopaul (Buffalo Grove, IL) posted a career-high on all four of his events as the Falcons defeated California and Army (Feb. 11). His meet was highlighted by a second-place finish on vault with 14.300. Gopaul also scored 13.150 on pommel horse, 13.000 on still rings, and 12.900 on high bar. This is the first career MPSF honor for Gopaul.
