Kamryn Kitchens – Baylor
Kitchens, a senior top from Kennesaw, Ga., competed in 10 heats and team event as Baylor improved to 2-0 on the season with a win over Trine. Kitchens helped the Bears to six scores of 9.90 or higher in last week’s meet against Trine, including a 9.95 in the compulsory pyramid and a trio of 9.90 scores in the compulsory toss, six-element acro and synch pyramid. She also tuned in a 9.925 in her solo tumbling pass, the aerial.
Specialist of the Week
Jordan Gruendler – Baylor
Gruendler, a sophomore from San Antonio, Texas, shined as a top in the pyramid for the Bears last week. Her performance as a top helped the Bears to a perfect 10.0 in the inversion pyramid and a 9.95 in the open pyramid. In the inversion pyramid she performs an inverted 180, while the open pyramid requires a straddle press (press high hand-to-hand pyramid).
Freshman of the Week
Gianna Cameron – Baylor
Cameron, a base and tumbler from South Charleston, Ohio, competed in six heats and team event for Baylor last weekend. Her performance helped Baylor to five scores of 9.50 or higher during the win over Trine, including a 9.90 in the compulsory toss and a 9.70 in the synchronized toss.
Athlete of the Week
Kathryn Coker – Limestone
In the 258.090-247.660 win over Presbyterian, Coker’s contributions in the compulsory event helped the Saints to an impressive 9.7/10.0 in the comp pyramid. In the pyramid event, Coker particularly shined with her efforts in a 1-1 H-H pyramid, which only a handful of teams attempt in the NCATA. With a starting score of 10.0, Coker picked up a 9.7 against Gannon. In the win over Presbyterian, Coker posted a score of 9.4/9.9 in the toss event. She performed a back double at the same high level toss in synch as well. Coker continued her contributions in almost every sequence in the team event with a standing tumbling pass of a 10.0, a running tumbling pass of a 9.1, two tosses, one a 9.4 starting value, and another a 9.0. She also performed in the acro sequence with a 1-1 press extension to push the saints to the second highest team event start value in program history.

Kathryn Koehl – Fairmont State
Koehl, a junior top, tumbler and base from Hartville, Ohio, helped the Falcons to a tri-meet sweep over Glenville State and Notre Dame College on Sunday afternoon. During the meet, Koehl competed in nine heats and team event for the Falcons, scoring a 9.90 in the compulsory pyramid and a 9.70 in the compulsory toss. She was a top in the high-scoring pyramid heat. Koehl also shined in the aerial tumbling pass, scoring a 9.45 (out of 9.65). In team event, Koehl serves as a top, base and tumbler, performing high-scoring skills for the Falcons.
