Co-Gymnasts of the Week
Taylor Christopulos – Nebraska
Christopulos highlights his performance for Nebraska by collecting the all-around title (81.55). The junior finished in second on floor with a career-best score of 14.40, helping set a season-high team score (69.50) for NU on the event. He also collected a second-place finish on vault (14.55). Christopulos set a career-best on parallel bars (13.90) landing in third place and finishing fourth on high bar (13.45). He also rallied to notch a season-best score on rings (13.40) and assisted the squad to a season-high team score (68.25) on the event.

Maddox Pabellon – Army
The Houston, Texas native stood out for the Black Knights at the annual Army-Navy star meet hosted at West Point. He recorded a score of 14.25 on pommel horse to win the event, an event which Pabellon currently ranks fourth in the country in. As part of the standout performance, Pabellon also took home second place in the vault, with a score of 14.30.

Gymnast of the Week
Matt Cormier – Penn State

  • Finished in the top four in five events during Penn State’s meet at conference foe Illinois on Feb. 4
  • Won the high bar title (13.900) and was the lone all-around competitor in the meet (81.700)
  • Also placed second on the floor (14.050) and vault (14.600), as well as fourth on the rings (13.750)
  • Earns his third career Big Ten Gymnast of the Week award, all this season

Freshman of the Week
Landen Blixt – Michigan

  • Placed in the top six in three events to help Michigan to a conference win at No. 4 Nebraska on Feb. 4
  • Took third on the floor (14.300) and fifth on the pommel horse (12.850)
  • Also tied for sixth on the vault with a score of 14.250
  • Captures his second Big Ten Freshman of the Week award

Gymnast of the Week
Dominic Ramalho – Springfield
Ramalho was sensational in leading Springfield to a win over William & Mary and its highest team score since 2018. He produced the highest all-around score of his career with a 77.2 as he won the vault and was the runner-up on both the parallel bars and rings.

Co-Specialists of the Week
Connor Van Loo – Navy
Competing in his final Army-Navy Star Meet, Van Loo performed at his best with a pair of top-two finishes. With a near-perfect vault (9.7 execution score; highest at meet) he came in first with a score of 14.5. On the first event of the afternoon, he performed the most difficult floor exercise routine (5.3 difficulty) and was awarded 13.6 points to rank second overall.

David Handron – Springfield
Handron again was outstanding in claiming first-place honors on the rings as he hit for a 13.950 against William & Mary. He won convincingly, outdistancing second place by 0.900 points.

Rookie of the Week
Owen Carney – Springfield
Carney had a breakout week for Springfield as the Pride bested William & Mary at home. The first-year took first on the high bar with the best score of his career (13.65), placed second on the floor with a career-best mark of 13.70, and took third in the vault.

Gymnast of the Week
Zach Nunez – Oklahoma
Oklahoma junior Zach Nunez (Cypress, TX) registered the second-highest all-around score in the nation this season (83.400) to lead the Sooners’ win over No. 15 Simpson College (Feb. 4). He was the first Sooner to go all-around during NCAA competition this season, posting season-bests on floor (13.800), pommel horse (14.400) and parallel bars (14.100). He competed on rings (13.500) and high bar (13.450) for the first time this season. Nunez posted the fourth-highest pommel horse score in the nation. This is the first career MPSF weekly award for Nunez.

Specialist of the Week
Dan Simmons – Oklahoma
Oklahoma junior Dan Simmons (Cypress, TX) stuck his vault and notched a 15.050 score in in the Sooners’ win over No. 15 Simpson College (Feb. 4). Simmons’ vault was OU’s first 15-plus score of the season, the best vault score in the nation this week, and the second-highest vault score nationally this season. He added a 13.400 on rings. This is the first career MPSF weekly award for Simmons.

Freshman of the Week
Ignacio Yockers – Oklahoma
Oklahoma freshman Ignacio Yockers (Tulsa, OK) notched a 14.600 on pommel horse in the Sooners’ win over No. 15 Simpson College (Feb. 4). The score was his second-highest of the season and ranks third-best nationally this year (he also holds the second-best score of 14.800, set last week). This is the second career MPSF weekly award for Yockers, including a repeat from last week.
