INDIANAPOLIS, Ind., Aug. 24, 2009 – Briley Casanova of Dallas, Texas/ WOGA Gymnastics, and Sophina DeJesus of Temecula, Calif./ SCEGA Gymnastics, will represent the United States at the Junior Japan International Competition on Sept. 22-23, 2009, in Yokohama, Japan.
Casanova and DeJesus finished eighth and ninth, respectively, in the junior all-around at the 2009 Visa Championships in Dallas, Texas. Coaching for the USA will be Larent Landi and Luis Garcia.
Countries participating in the 2009 Junior Japan International Competition include Australia, Belgium, Belarus, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Great Britain, Germany, Greece, Italy, Jamaica, Republic of Korea, Netherland, Romania, Russia, Switzerland, Ukraine, United States, and Japan.
The junior men competing for the USA are Jake Dalton of Sparks, Nev./ Gymnastics Nevada, and John Orozco of Bronx, N.Y./ World Cup Gymnastics.
