INDIANAPOLIS, April 17, 2014 – USA Gymnastics has been notified that the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) upheld the appeal of Caroline Hunt, the director of rhythmic gymnastics for USA Gymnastics and a member of the International Gymnastics Federation’s Rhythmic Gymnastics Technical Committee, and five additional Technical Committee members regarding a decision rendered in July 2013 by the FIG Disciplinary Committee pertaining to an intercontinental judges course in December 2012.

“We are very pleased that CAS upheld Caroline’s appeal and affirmed what we have known from the start,” said Steve Penny, president of USA Gymnastics. “Caroline is honest, loyal, hardworking and dedicated to growing the sport of rhythmic gymnastics. ”

“I am glad to have this behind us and will continue efforts to develop and promote rhythmic gymnastics, both here and around the world,” said Hunt.

According to the official FIG release sent on April 16, 2014, “The decision and sanctions pronounced by the FIG Disciplinary Committee on July 8, 2013, have been lifted. Additionally, the decision of the FIG Appeals Tribunal on December 10, 2013, has been nullified. The FIG has taken note of the CAS’s decision.”
