PITTSBURGH, Pa., Aug. 24, 2014 – Tristan Burke of Royse City, Texas/WOGA Frisco, and Kiwan Watts of North Chesterfield, Va./Above The Bar, won the U.S. junior men’s 15-16 and 17-18 all-around titles, respectively, in the final competition session of the 2014 P&G Gymnastics Championships at Pittsburgh’s CONSOL Energy Center.


In the 17-18 year old division, Watts scored 166.200 in the all-around to claim the title. Yul Moldauer of Arvada, Colo./5280 Gymnastics, was second in the all-around at 165.650. Robert Neff of Brookfield, Wis./Swiss Turners, was third with 163.850. Watts also was the gold medalist for the horizontal bar at 27.050 and tied for with Kyle King of Mesquite, Texas/Ridgewood Gymnastics, for first on the floor exercise at 28.350. He was the silver medalist on both the pommel horse (27.050) and still rings (28.000). His other event scores were: vault, 28.700, and parallel bars, 27.050. In addition, Moldauer captured the pommel horse title (27.750) and tied for third on floor (28.100). The remaining event champions are: Dmitri Belanovski of West Allis, Wis./Swiss Turners, still rings (28.400); Alexander Wilson of Sugar Land, Texas/Houston Gym Center, vault (29.450); and Ryan Sheppard, Murphy, Texas/WOGA Plano, parallel bars (28.400).


In the 15-16 year old division, Burke captured the all-around title with 164.550. Grant Breckenridge of Libertyville, Ill./Buffalo Grove, finished in second place at 163.300, and David Jessen of Providence, R.I./TAG USA, rounded out the top three at 161.300. Burke also took top honors in the still rings at 28.600, and tied for second on the parallel bars at 27.850. Burke’s other individual event scores were: 27.800, floor exercise; 26.050, pommel horse; 28.600, vault; and 25.650, horizontal bar. Matthew Wenske of Houston, Texas/Cypress Academy, and Levi Anderson of Houston, Texas/Cypress Academy, tied for first on the floor exercise at 28.750. The other individual event winners were: Cameron Bock of Tustin, Calif./SCATS Gymnastics, pommel horse, 26.250; Wenske, vault, 29.700; Breckenridge, parallel bars, 28.050; and Levi Anderson of Houston, Texas/Cypress Academy, horizontal bar, 27.950.


In addition to VisitPittsburgh, the Pittsburgh Penguins, AEG and CONSOL Energy Center were instrumental in bringing the event to the city. The City of Pittsburgh and Allegheny County are also helping support the championships.
