COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo., April 10, 2012 – Chris Brooks of Houston/Team Hilton HHonors (Cypress Gymnastics), has been named the Male Athlete of the Month for March, the U.S. Olympic Committee announced today. Skier Lindsey Vonn beat out Jordyn Wieber of DeWitt, Mich./Gedderts’ Twistars USA, for the women’s award, while the U.S. Men’s National Sled Hockey Team received the Team of the Month award.

In March, Brooks, who served as the U.S. team alternate at the 2011 World Championships, helped lead Team USA to a first-place finish at the Kellogg’s Pacific Rim Championships last month, while also claiming the all-around gold medal. In the event finals, Brooks brought home three more medals (high bar, still rings, gold; pommel horse, silver) for a total of five medals at the event.
