LAS VEGAS, Feb. 20, 2014 – Chris Brooks of Houston/Team Hilton HHonors (Cypress Gymnastics), leads the all-around after the first of two preliminary sessions at the 2014 Winter Cup Challenge, inside the Riviera Hotel & Casino’s Royale Pavilion in Las Vegas. Brooks posted an 85.800. Danell Leyva of Miami/Team Hilton HHonors (Universal), is second, 84.400, followed by Donothan Bailey of Mission Viejo, Calif./University of California – Berkeley, 84.000.

The second session begins at 9:30 p.m. ET, and fans can watch it live at WinterCup.com/live.

Brooks posted the top score of the session on the horizontal bar, 15.200. His other scores were 14.400, floor, 13.350, pommel horse, 14.050, still rings, 14.950, vault, and 13.850, parallel bars.

Leyva’s scores were 15.000, floor, 13.000, pommel horse, 13.000, still rings, 14.400, vault, 15.350, parallel bars, and 13.650, high bar.

On the parallel bars, Bailey posted the second highest score on the event, 14.650. He earned scores of 14.450, floor, 13.500, pommel horse, 13.750, still rings, 14.100, vault, and 13.550, high bar.
