COTTBUS, Germany, March 14, 2014 – Chris Brooks of Houston/Team Hilton HHonors (Cypress), and Josh Dixon of Colorado Springs, Colo./U.S. Olympic Training Center, both qualified today to the finals of the Cottbus World Cup in Cottbus, Germany. Brooks advanced to the parallel bar and horizontal bar finals, while Dixon will compete in Sunday’s high bar final. The competition is an International Gymnastics Federation World Challenge Cup event and continues Saturday and Sunday with the finals in all six apparatus.

Earlier in the competition, 2013 World Championships still rings bronze medalist Brandon Wynn of Voorhees, N.J./Team Hilton HHonors (U.S. Olympic Training Center), qualified for tomorrow’s rings final.

Brooks posted a 15.400 on the high bar, the event’s top score of the day, to advance to Sunday’s final. He also qualified to the parallel bars final in seventh place with a 14.733. Dixon earned a 14.400 to advance to the high bar finals as the seventh qualifier.
