BRIDGEPORT, Conn., April 13, 2012 – Friday the 13th proved to be a lucky day for the University of Bridgeport when UB won its fourth straight team title at the 2012 USA Gymnastics Women’s Collegiate National Championships, held at the Webster Bank Arena in Bridgeport, Conn. The championships conclude on Saturday with the individual event finals.
Bridgeport posted a team total of 195.575 to become just the second school to win four team titles. Texas Woman’s University, the only other school to have four consecutive team titles, was second at 193.700. The University of Pennsylvania was third at 193.475, followed by the U.S. Air Force Academy in fourth place at 191.075.
The individual event finals, held at Harvey Hubbell Gymnasium at 1 p.m. ET, feature the top five finishers, including ties, from each of the preliminary sessions.

The USA Gymnastics Collegiate Championships is for Division I, II and III schools with less than seven-and-a-half full scholarships.
