PROVIDENCE, R.I. – April 12, 2014 – University of Bridgeport won the team title at the 2014 USA Gymnastics Women’s Collegiate National Championships, held at Brown University’s Pizzitola Sports Center in Providence, R.I. This is Bridgeport’s sixth overall team title and its fifth consecutive. Sunday’s individual event finals are scheduled for 1 p.m. ET.
Bridgeport won the team crown with 195.225 points. Texas Woman’s University was second with 194.725 and Seattle Pacific University edged out the U.S. Air Force Academy, 194.550 to 194.350, for third place.

The schools competing in the team competition are: University of Bridgeport, Cornell University, Lindenwood University, U.S. Air Force Academy, Temple University, Seattle Pacific University, Brown University and Texas Woman’s University.
Schools with athletes competing for an event or all-around title only are: Centenary College, Southern Connecticut State University, West Chester University, University of Pennsylvania and Yale University.

The USA Gymnastics Collegiate Championships is for Division I, II and III schools with less than seven-and-a-half full scholarships.
