COTTBUS, Germany, Nov. 25, 2017 – Allan Bower of Norman, Okla./University of Oklahoma, finished fourth in the floor exercise final at the 2017 Cottbus World Cup in Cottbus, Germany. Marvin Kimble of Milwaukee, Wis./Salto Gymnastics Center, will compete in the horizontal bar final on Nov. 26, the final day of the four-day competition that is part of the International Gymnastics Federation’s World Cup series and features individual event competition. On the first day of the finals, Bower took fourth for the floor, earning a 13.966. Slovenia’s Rok Klavora, the Netherlands Bram Verhofstad, and Russia’s Kiril Prokopev tied for first at 14.333, with Klavora getting the nod for first, followed by Verhofstad and Prokopev. China’s Wang Junwen won the pommel horse title with a 15.200. Japan’s Ryuhei Nashimoto was second, edging out China’s Tan Di 14.933 to 14.833. Bower was seventh at 14.066. The Ukraine’s Igor Radivilov won the still rings’ crown.

Competition wraps up tomorrow with the finals for men’s vault, parallel bars and horizontal bar; women’s balance beam and floor exercise at 2 p.m. Germany/8 a.m. ET.

Taqiy Abdullah-Simmons, assistant coach at the University of Oklahoma, is the coach for the event. No U.S. women are competing.
