COTTBUS, Germany, Nov. 23, 2017– 2017 U.S. all-around silver medalist Allan Bower of Norman, Okla./University of Oklahoma, qualified for the floor exercise and pommel horse finals at the 2017 Cottbus (Germany) World Cup. Qualifications continue tomorrow with Marvin Kimble of Milwaukee, Wis./Salto Gymnastics Center, competing in both the parallel bars and horizontal bar, and Bower in vault and high bar. The four-day competition is part of the International Gymnastics Federation’s World Cup series and features individual event competition. Bower finished in fourth place in the qualification round for floor, posting a 14.166, and was eighth (14.166) in the prelims for pommel horse. On the first day of prelims, Kimble competed on the pommel horse, placing 11th (13.700), and still rings (13.166), placing 14th.

  • Nov. 24 – men’s vault, parallel bars, horizontal bar; women’s balance beam, floor exercise, 4:30 p.m. Germany/10:30 a.m. ET

Individual event finals

  • Nov. 25 – men’s floor exercise, pommel horse, still rings; women’s vault, uneven bars, 2 p.m. Germany/8 a.m. ET
  • Nov. 26 – men’s vault, parallel bars, horizontal bar; women’s balance beam, floor exercise, 2 p.m. Germany/8 a.m. ET

Taqiy Abdullah-Simmons, assistant coach at the University of Oklahoma, is the coach for the event. 2017 U.S. horizontal bar silver medalist Colin Van Wicklen of Norman, Okla./University of Oklahoma, has withdrawn from the competition. No U.S. women are competing.
