Nov. 11, 2019 – Five-time World all-around champion Simone Biles of Spring, Texas/World Champions Centre, won the 2019 People’s Choice Awards Game Changer Award. The People’s Choice Awards were held last night in Santa Monica, Calif.

Since her return to competitive gymnastics, Biles has rewritten the record books. Her 25 World medals (19 gold, three silver, three bronze), are the most won by any gymnast, male or female, and she also has the mark for the most World gold medals at 19. With a total of 30 Olympic and World medals, Biles is also the most decorated U.S. gymnast of all-time, male or female. Here are just a few of her other accomplishments: first woman to win each of the following at the World Championships– five World all-around titles (2013-15, 18-19), three World balance beam titles (2014-15, 19) and five World floor exercise titles (2013-15, 2018-19); and in the USA, she is a six-time U.S. all-around champion (2013-16, 2018-19), five-time U.S. vault champion (2014-16, 2018-19), and four-time U.S. balance beam champion (2015-16, 2018-19) and U.S. floor exercise champion (2014, 2016, 2018-19). Her five Olympic medals are four gold (team, all-around, vault and floor exercise) and one bronze (balance beam).

The other nominees for Game Changer were: LeBron James, Los Angeles Lakers/NBA; Megan Rapinoe, soccer; Coco Gauff, tennis; Drew Brees, New Orleans Saints/NFL; Alex Morgan, soccer; Stephen Curry, Golden State Warriors/NBA; and Serena Williams, tennis.
