GWANGIU, South Korea, July 7, 2015 – Donothan Bailey of Lake Forest, Calif./University of California – Berkeley, won the pommel horse gold medal today on the final day of artistic gymnastics competition at the 2015 World University Games in Gwangiu, South Korea. Teammate Akash Modi of Morganville, N.J./Stanford University, won the bronze medal on pommel horse.

In the pommel final, Bailey scored a 14.766, edging out Japan’s Naoto Hayasaka, who posted a 14.741 for silver. Modi took the bronze, earning a 14.633.

Modi also competed in the event finals for parallel bars (fifth, 15.200), horizontal bar (sixth, 14.666), and floor exercise (seventh, 14.466).
